  Welcome to Carroll Road Outfitters

My name is Grant Mitton and I am the owner of Carroll Road Outfitters.  I was born in Moncton and have been living and hunting bear, moose and deer in New Brunswick and across Canada for more than forty-six years.

The land on which I hunt and own has been in my family for over a hundred years. Many of my fondest memories are of hunting trips with my father and brothers in these very woods. I am reminded time and time again of how fortunate I am to have grown up in this particular area of the world.

As a retired engineer and hunting enthusiast, I’ve had the opportunity to travel and hunt all over the world, from Australia to Turkey. My favorite hunting experiences, however, have been spent on my land, whether out in the woods or sitting around the wood stove conversing with friends about the day’s hunt.

I would like to give to you the kind of hunting experience that I’ve enjoyed all of my life. As you come to know the land on which Carroll Road Camp sits and my enthusiasm for this sport, I am confident that you will agree your hunting experience was quite unlike what you expected or experienced before.

Warm regards,

Grant

1.3 Bear Sightseeing

Come and see bear in their natural habitat. There is plenty of bear to see in this area of New Brunswick. Depending upon your seasonal preferences, bears may be observed feeding at various times throughout the spring, summer, and fall months. Viewings are safely done from a manufactured tree stand over the bear baiting area.

   meals per person.
• Each reservation requires a 30% deposit and the remainder is paid on the first day of the tour.

1.4 All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Trails

I am a keen ATV enthusiast. A couple of years ago a few friends and I traveled across Newfoundland on ATVs.  There are a number of scenic ATV trails in south-eastern New Brunswick. I organize day or two-day excursions from Carroll Road Camp. ATVs must meet safety regulations stipulated by the province of New Brunswick. The ATVs I provide meet provincial requirements.

1.4.1 Rates

• Daily or two-day rates may be negotiated depending on preferences of accommodation and number of
   meals per person.
• Each reservation requires a 30% deposit and the remainder is paid on the first day of the sightseeing.

2. Accommodation

2.1 Carroll Road Camp Cabin

You are more than welcome to stay in my cabin free of charge during the hunt or sightseeing and/or ATV tour.  The cabin is located in my camp which is 20 minutes away from the city of Moncton.   There are four bunk beds, a kitchen, a wash basin, an indoor toilet and a great wood stove.  There is no running water, but we supply the water from a nearby well using a hand pump as part of the kitchen sink.  This cabin and its wood stove have witnessed many conversations and is a great gathering place. All ATV travels to hunting sites and/or tours start from this cabin.

2.2 Motel Accommodation

It’s been a tradition for some time now for me and my friends to have our meals at the Atlantic Motel’s restaurant.  This is a friendly, clean and economically priced motel where many of my friends and previous clients stayed.  It is also only 10 minutes away from Carroll Road Camp.  To reserve a room, please call (506) 858-1988 and mention my name.

2.3 Hotel Accommodation

Moncton has a range of hotels that would meet different needs.  The great thing about all of these hotels is that they are only 20-30 minutes away from Carroll Road Camp.  Please visit http://www.monctonhotels.net  for further information.

2.4 Mobile Trailer

For the truly adventurous there is also my mobile trailer. If the weather permits, you are more than welcome to use it free of charge.

3. Six-Hole Golf Course

In addition to hunting I love to play golf.  Five years ago I built a six-hole golf course and annually hold the Mitton Invitational Golf Tournament. Friends from all over the Maritimes join me each year this for this event.  You are more than welcome to use the golf course weather permitting.  I will supply the equipment.  The good news is we are planning to add three more holes soon.
